Sometimes patients are ready to jump right into therapy. Other times, an evaluation is needed to outline the causes of the struggle. If you are unsure of what service you need, feel free to schedule a Consultation with anyone of our providers and we will point you in the right direction.

Patients can request a specific provider. In addition, we will match patients based on a provider’s expertise and insurance plan credentialing

We accept most major commercial plans for assessment and counseling services. We accept Medicaid for ABA services only.

Approximately one week before your scheduled appointment, we will verify your insurance benefits and notify you of your insurance coverage. In many cases, insurance will cover some, if not all, of the services (including therapy and assessment). The out-of-pocket costs to you will vary depending on your particular plan including deductible, co-insurance, and co-pay policies. Note that Educational Testing is never covered by insurance and will always be an out-of-pocket expense.

All BBG patients are connected with a Patient Portal. The Patient Portal can be accessed at anytime to view outstanding balances, make payments, send messages, and schedule appointments.

Parents should always accompany their child for the first appointment. After the initial appointment, your provider and you will discuss whether you should attend additional sessions.

Testing typically occurs in 3 pieces: the Clinical Interview, the Testing Procedures, and the Feedback Session. From start to finish, this process usually takes 6 to 8 weeks but note that it is possible to “Rush” these services for a fee.

Testing can last from 3 to 7 hours (but can vary greatly depending on the reason for the evaluation). Breaks are determined by the client's need. There is always a break for lunch. The testing portion of the evaluation is conducted by a “psychometrician” (psychologist’s assistant) under the direction of the psychologist. A psychometrician is specially trained to administer the tests according to strictly standardized procedures. The data from that testing session is then interpreted by the psychologist and analyzed based on the information learned during the clinical interview. The psychologist writes a report incorporating and integrating the clinical and standardized data.

The actual test battery will be decided by your provider after your initial Clinical Interview. To prepare for testing, get a good night’s sleep and eat a good breakfast. Other than that, come as you are.

While we ask that an adult accompany all children 6 years old and younger to the testing session, we ask that you wait in the waiting room. Due to test security and to help minimize distractions, parents are not allowed to accompany their child into the testing room.

Telemedicine is similar to a FaceTime or Zoom call. It is conducted on a HIPAA secured site and each provider’s room can be found in the Telemedicine Directory on our website under client portal.
