Jacey Lutz, RD, LDN
Jacey Lutz, RD, LDN is a Registered Dietitian and New Orleans native who joins Brennan Behavior Group and The Balance Collective with broad experience in working with children and adolescents with serious medical conditions. Trained at LSU and Southern University, she focused her early clinical work on treating medically fragile populations at Children's Hospital for conditions including diabetes, failure to thrive, gastrointestinal disorders, and cystic fibrosis. Her experiences on the acute medical units at Children's Hospital led to interest and expertise in working with families struggling with eating disorders. Ms. Lutz also has experience as a consultant for a gourmet food preparation company and as a lifelong gymnast and coach. This has given her unique insight into the factors that impact the development of eating disorders and the struggle families experience in recovery. As her career has developed, she has also gravitated towards evidence-based theories of nutrition science including Intuitive Eating and the Health at Every Size model, which strives to encourage a healthy body and mind outside of cultural pressures for false ideals of thinness. Ms. Lutz has provided nutrition training to LSU and Tulane medical school students, presented at Children's Hospital Pediatric Grand Rounds on managing eating disorders, and served as a founding member of the Children's Hospital Eating Disorder Committee to provide gold-standard care for hospitalized children and adolescents. She is available for consultation for a variety of nutrition challenges including managing complex medical conditions and serving as the Balance Collective's lead dietitian.
