Amy Alvarez is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years of experience working with children, adolescents and adults.


Amy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts and Philosophy from Mount Holyoke College, a Master of Social Work, and a Master of Public Health from Tulane University. Amy also holds a certificate in Forensic Social Work from Tulane and was a Harris Fellow in Infant Mental Health at the LSU School of Psychiatry.

Amy works with teenagers and adults to manage a variety of mental health concerns. Amy has a special interest in working with clients coping with infertility, adoption, adjustment to a newborn, divorce, step-families and career issues. Amy also provides parenting support. Amy welcomes LGBTQ clients.

Amy also provides court-appointed custody evaluations, and is qualified as an expert witness in family and children's issues in Orleans, Jefferson, St. Tammany and St. Charles parishes.

When not providing clinical social work services, Amy is professional actor who has performed in New Orleans, Baltimore and New York City.
